6-Aug-2011 - Jambo, Esther!

My wife and I, have a very beautiful memory of the 13 days we spent in Kenya. We would like to thank you Esther, ( Many thanks Esther for receiving us on Nairobi airport on our arrival, and for all the work we gave you before we fly with our special requests? and also Yvonne ( which we also met personally at Kilaguni Safari Lodge - Tsavo West). We would also like to thank to our guide/drivers, Peter, Simon and specially John, which were our guide/driver for the most time of our trip. They are all fantastic drivers and they have a very good understanding about wildlife.

We had the possibility on those 13 days to visit several Parks/Lodges ( Tsavo East - Voi Safari Lodge, Tsavo West - Kilaguni Safari Lodge, Amboseli - Ol Tukai Game Lodge, Lake Nakuru - Lake Nakuru Safari Lodge, and Masai Mara - Keekorok Safari Lodge, Mara Serena Lodge, Kichawa Tembo and Governor's Main Camp ), which gave us a good view of the different areas in Kenya.

  • Tsavo East - Voi Safari Lodge - Fantastic landscape, with a lot of elephants on the waterholes, but very crowded and food so and so. Best rooms, upper deck facing waterholes.
  • Tsavo West - Kilaguni Safari Lodge - Very nice view of the waterholes with a lot of zebras an elephants. Best rooms, also upper deck facing waterholes.
  • Amboseli - Ol Tukai Game Lodge - Nice Lodge, but very crowed. Best rooms facing the Kilimanjaro. A lot of animals but a very dry place with a lot of dust on the air
  • Lake Nakuru - Lake Nakuru Lodge ? Nice landscape for the lake ( rooms 102 and 103 ). Very crowded and food, so and so?
  • Masai Mara - Keekorok Safari Lodge - Nice rooms, nice hippo pool. Very crowded. Spectacular wildlife.
  • Masai Mara - Mara Serena Lodge - All rooms with fantastic landscape for Mara plains. Spectacular wildlife.
  • Masai Mara - Kichwa Tembo - The best 5 star Lodge. Spectacular wildlife
  • Masai Mara - Governor's Main Camp - the second best Lodge. The best wildlife Lodge, with the best tent nº37 with the most amazing landscape and with full of animals around, day and night. We could make the safari sitting in our tent nº 37.
In all places, all staff, was very friendly and efficiency. In all these Park and Lodges we will remember the landscapes, waterholes, smells and the amazing wildlife, with full view of the Big 5 and all the other animals, including Cheetah and saw also a lot of "crossings"; big herds of gnus and zebras crossing the Mara river.

The balloon Safari was also spectacular, it's expensive but is worthwhile and it's an experience that we will never forget.

Many thanks to you all at GoAfrica Safaris. We will be back.
