25-Sep-2013 - Dear Yvonne,

since 2012 we have been in touch to plan our Kenya holiday! We just say the all our expectations have been exceeded. We had a fantastic holiday and hardly noticed the mobility restrictions which one expects traveling with a wheelchair . From the moment we were collected from the airport on arrival until we departed, everything was perfectly organised.

Rashid was a wonderful guide who showed us many fantastic things during the safari. He also took the time to enjoy nature and the game-drive planning was nice and flexible which meant that Eshter was able to rest if she wanted. Game-drives were shorter or postponed according to our wishes. Rashid also really took a great effort to make sure Esther could see everything from the co-driver seat. The ten days in Tsavo East & West, Amboseli , Naivasha , Nakuru and the wonderful Masai Mara went so fast ?we really enjoyed!

The road from Nakuru to the Masai Mara is a long drive and for some people with limited mobiilty this trip could be hard. Its very tiring as the road is not in a good condition , if we would do this again we would plan an overnight in between.

The accommodations were very good, some even spectaculair like Satao Camp. There you can see the elephants from your bed! Absolutely fantastic ? even Mara Ashnil was great. The one lodge which was not so accessible was Kilaguni Lodge at Tsavo West but even here we managed well ? with the help of the showerchair the problem was solved.

In case of any small obstacles it was solved with Kenyan flexibility! Our hotel at the Coast-AmaniTiwi was great and with the assistance of the beach wheelchair we were able to enjoy the beach! The team of the diving school Baracuda diving made it possible for Esther to enjoy the underwater world. Its due to the flexibility of the people who make this possible. Many thanks for the great planning and the care you took to reliaze our African dream.

Till the next time!
