An experience of a lifetime

Dear Yvonne,
Many thanks for a well-planned safari. It was an experience of a lifetime. The guide/drivers Raphael for Kenya and Yahaya in Tanzania were outstanding meeting our needs with a very caring attitude for Mary Anne’s disability. Not only could they spot the animals but they had books that gave detailed information of each animal we saw.

We liked all the lodges and tent camps but were most impressed with Serenity on the Lake at Lake Victoria. For us Kenya was our favorite but certainly enjoyed the Serengeti and of course the Crater, a world-wonder. The ride up and down the Crater road provided many contrasts from the cloudy mountaintop with its trees and vegetation to the floor that continued the various contrasts of the region. Mary Anne thought the jungle at the top reminder her of the Tarzan movies she watched as a child.

The last day was wonderful with lunch in the garden of a hotel next to the Shanga facility. The visit to Shanga to see the workshop and store and to meet the disabled workers and buy lovely items they made was most enjoyable. Another highlight was a visit to the AC Day Care and Orphanage where we meet Angela Chabal and the children. Angela introduced us to the children who sang songs and one little three-year old boy named Gian followed Dave everywhere. We intend to make the orphanage one of our charities.

Thanks for the gift bag. Dave wore his hat everywhere we went and I used the scarf in the mornings. We had one glitch, as Mary Anne’s wheel chair didn’t arrive with our luggage. However, it did arrive the following morning but your immediate attention to providing us an interim wheelchair within two hours of our arrival was most impressive.

We think Go Africa is a considerate and well-run company and will recommend you to anyone who wants a superb safari in Africa.

Again, thanks for the trip of a lifetime and best wishes for the future.
